The final night of the Brooks Cycles track League for 2015 took place on Thursday 10^th September. The weather was kind with warm dry sunny conditions before the racing was concluded under the floodlights which always ads a new dimension to the atmosphere. The night also saw the Great British Track League Bake off take place with special thanks to everyone who bought along cakes. They were all very well appreciated by the riders and officials and there was nothing left as the final rider handed his number back in.

The night started with the Freewheelers League with a great turnout of riders for the final event. All 12 races were keenly contested and the top point’s scorers on the night were as follows;

Group 1 Izaak Curtis Lyme RC 10 points

Group 2 Evie Davis Lyme RC 9 Points

Group 3 Emma O’Neil Lyme RC 8 Points

In the main league the main focus of attention was in the B Class League with potentially 4 riders battling it out for the overall titles. As it was the current leader Aidan Morley ( Lyme RC) holding on to take the title as two second places in the points and 30 lap scratch. The main winners on the night were Steve Hall ( Lyme RC) who won the 8 lap scratch and the devil . Alex Leek ( Wrekinsport ) won the points and Mike Perry ( Provision) won the final 30 lap scratch.

The A Class endurance races saw Jacob Booth ( Dave Hinde Cycles) have a great night. He won three events in the 10 lap scratch, devil and points race and this enabled him to leap frog league leader Matt walkls to take the 2015 A Class Endurance title. Joel Partington won the final race of the year in the 30 lap scratch.

The sprinters league races were well supported as usual with the team of Sean Mayer, Barney Swinnerton ( both Swinnerton Cycles ) and Joel Partington (PM) winning the Team sprint in what is one of the fastest times we have had at the league of 41.95 seconds. In the Keiren final Barney Swinnerton took a fine win from Phil Houlton ( Brooks Cycles) and Sean Mayer. Once all the points were totalled up Sean Mayer retained his 2014 title after a very strong and impressive season.

In the youth races Charlie Fisher ( Newport CC) had an impressive night as he won3 individual events in the 200m TT, devil and scratch along with being a member of the winning team sprint team. This impressive total of wins ensured he took third place in the overall league for the year.

The league would like to thank all the officials and helpers for ensuring the event takes place each week and also to the riders for supporting the events this year. Hopefully see everyone back again in 2016.
