18/08/2016 - Farley Barber Scores Maximum Points

It was a beautiful sunny evening at the latest round of the Brooks Cycles Track League at the Lyme Valley Velodrome, Newcastle under Lyme, Staffs on Thursday 18^th August. The fine weather and with some young riders returning from holidays there was a good turnout of riders in the Freewheelers League. The top point’s scorers in each group were as follows;

Group 1                Thomas Wheaver                    Lyme RC                              9 points

Group 2                Harry Clewlow                        Lyme RC                              9 Points

Group 3                Charlie Clewlow                                                                   11 Points   

In the main league Farley Barber ( Lyme RC ) dominated the endurance races winning the 8 lap scratch, devil unknown distance and the final 10 mile scratch for B riders. This form has propelled him up the league and he now threatens B Class league leader Alex Coates ( Lyme RC) who had a good night taking three second places..

In the sprinters league races the main event was the Keiren Final where national Masetsr sprint Champion Phil Houlton ( Brooks Cycles ) won with teammate Josh Spendelow close behind as he made a late rush for the line.

In the youth races Joel Ackers ( Sportcity Velo won all four events as he strengthened his lead in the overall table.
